The St. Joseph County Parks & Recreation Department strives to offer beautiful, natural parks for our residents, visitors and wildlife. Our goal is to provide the public with outstanding recreational experiences, in parks that make the most of and protect our unique natural resources. We hope you will visit often and enjoy our county parks!

ACCESSIBILITY: St. Joseph County Parks will make all reasonable efforts to accommodate special needs. Please contact us five working days in advance if special accommodations are requested. Park services are open to all without regard to race, color, national origin, sex or handicap.

PARK HOURS: St. Joseph County Parks are open daily from dawn to dusk.

Park Hours: Dawn to Dusk

Cade Lake is a 32-acre private lake with the parks setting on 98 acres, 53 wooded. Newly renovated family campground with 55 campsites: 43 full hookup sites, 9 rustic sites, and 3 cabins. Camp fire rings, picnic tables, barbecue grills, picnic pavilion, and a fish cleaning station all make Cade a fun and easy place to camp and enjoy nature. Play on the sandy beach, fish from our piers or take a row boat or kayak out on the peaceful water. There’s also a playground, volleyball court, and indoor game room with a camp store. Looking for some exercise? Hike our trails or play 18 holes at Deadwood Disc Golf Course.

Reservations:
For reservations, please contact the Cade Lake Office at 269/651-3330 from May - Mid-October and the St. Joseph County Parks Department office at 269/467-5519 from Mid-October - April.

Full hookup site (electric, water & sewer): $40/night; $2,300/season + monthly electric usage.
Rustic Site (NO electric, water, or sewer): $30/night.
Cabin: Rustic - $75/night + $150 refundable security/damage deposit; Updated - $100/night + $150 refundable security/damage deposit.

Payment for entire stay is due in full at time of reservation. Reservations will not be submitted until full payment is received.

Directions to the park & campground - Important

Some online navigation tools will try to direct campers down back roads to avoid going through the town of Sturgis. However, the easiest and best way to access Plumb School Road is by coming from either the east or the west on US 12. This will allow you to easily maneuver larger campers/RVs.

While entry to our parks is currently free for county residents, we are asking for park supporters to consider making a donation of just $35 for continued development and maintenance.
