The Clerk of the Court is the official record keeper for all lawsuits and legal actions filed within the 45th Circuit Court of St. Joseph County.
Important: Criminal Record Access
Due to Clean Slate Legislation (Eff. April 11, 2023), online criminal viewing only reflects cases from 2017 to the present. Accuracies for cases prior to 2017 must be verified manually. Additionally, the public viewing terminal for criminal cases is currently unavailable.
Civil & Family Records
We manage the filing and preservation of:
- Divorce & Family Matters
- Paternity, Custody, & Support
- Civil Actions (Damages over $25,000)
- Personal Protection Orders (PPO)
Criminal & Financial
The Clerk’s office is responsible for:
- Maintaining all Felony case records
- Collection of court-ordered Fines & Costs
- Processing Restitution payments
- Providing access to Public Court Files
